Hello all,

I'm new here, and from a quick look around it seems that this is exactly the place I need to be right now

I've been riding five years, cutting my teeth on an old Kawasaki zzr600, toured around bits Europe a couple of times, just made it back from Croatia via Austria, Slovenia, Hungary and Slovakia.

I'm sad to say the old girl didn't make it back in good condition so i'm in the market for a new machine.

I've come to the conclusion that i would like something a bit more rugged, simple to fix, fun to ride and bomb proof.

After a bit of thought and some research, a couple of recommendations and 3 days riding one around Paros a couple of years ago, I've got my eye on a XT600, (XTZ 600 Tenere Rv1986 to be precise)

The particular machine I have in mind is here. (I live in the Czech Republic, so don't think I'm so mad )

According to the seller, the bike has 33,000 km (approx 20,000 miles) on the clock.

I'd be very grateful for some advice regarding what to look / listen for when I go and see it, known issues, problems / benefits of this particular mark, etc.

Ok, so, please consider this a kind of open thread... any hints and tips will be useful.

If all goes to plan, I'll be on the road back to Croatia with in the next couple of months... If anyone is interested, I'd be glad of the company
