Brillo Pads were accually wire wool pads with a pink soap impregnated in them.
A green nylon scouring pad (for pots & pans) is good for the final polish of the piston crown. A bit of copper pipe which has been flattened is good as it doesn't scratch the piston/head so much.
Just make sure the thing you are using has no sharp bits or burrs on it, or it'll gouge it
