Dpr8ea-9
Hi all!
Could anyone tell me the outer diameter of the sparkplug?
I'm THINKING OF buying a Trailtech Vapor computer and I need to know the diameter as I want to put the engine temperature gauge on!
I think it's 12mm but I'm not sure...

You are right; DPR8EA-9 is 12mm.
In the same way in all NGK sparkplugs the first letter show the size:
B = 14mm
D = 12mm
C = 10mm

Hi... well, now you got me confused
take a look at this picture:
http://www.trailtech.net/media/compu...-3012_w450.jpg
What I a need to know is what size (Internal Diameter) does the "shim" on that sensor cable have to be in order for the sparkplug fit through it and tighten it between thee sparkplgb(nut) and the sparkplug cylinder head hole?

Hi!
I would if I already had the bike fully working and the Vapor on it :P
Anyway, I just remembered... some Vapor kits have a special oil temperature sensor that is a thin screw with just one little part of thread that fits into some bikes engine temperature sensor...
How about fitting one of these on to the screw on top of the oil filter cap?
I got two other ideas... one is to try and fit the Vapor kit's radiator temperature sensor to one of the XT's oil lines which I doubt would work... and the other is just take out the radiator adapter and weld a shim to the end of the cable to fit it either on the engine or the sparkplug...

The small oil sensor wire fitting probably won't work too well fitted to the "screw on top of the oil filter cap" as this is not in direct contact with the oil so will probably be slow to react to the oil heating and probably not reach the same temp as the engine oil !!!

I have broken two of those temp sensor fittings.They're a very tight fit down into the head where the plug is and you usually end up breaking the loop where the plug goes through.So I gave up refitting it.
