End of an era
Looks like its the end of the road for yammies big air cooled 600.
i browsed over to yamahas website and saw the TT600 is not being offered for '05.
so we are left with the WR 450f for dual sport use in the big thumper class.

Killed off by Euro emmission laws and fashion. There is hardly such a thing as a simple strong basic bike like the old XTs and TTs anymore. Progress?

The TT600RE is still being offered by Yamaha in the UK.
Does that mean the new laws don't apply here?
Can anyone clarify the situation with the new laws?
Or has the TT600RE been jetted etc. so it's compliant? I don't want to buy a new bike, rejet it and find it then won't pass it's emissions test.
Cheers,
Ian.

Just to let you know that they still build the XT600 with the 3aj motor in Brasil, and some dealers will ship to the UK, they are fairly cheap as well.

The XT600 was discontinued here in 2005...
Today we have only the XT660R, and it's made in Brazil... and don't have the "X" option... :-(
Our XT600E models was almost the same as the european ones... just 1 or 2 years late... :-)
a big hug from Brazil

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
