Can't help with the Daytona grips, but I have heated grips on my Pan European. Seriously, you don't want them too hot! One a very cold night (below freezing) a couple of weeks ago I switched them on at level 4 out of 4. Within a mile, I couldn't bear to touch the grips, even with gloves on. Setting 2 proved the 'Baby Bear' setting - just right. On warmer nights, setting 1 is OK. Use the boost setting to get some warmth into them, and then go back to standard. The fact they don't feel hot isn't the issue - they should feel warm, and then they are keeping your hands warmer than they would be.
