Hello and help

Hello to one and all,
This is my first post on the hub........so please be gentle.
I've had my XT600e winter hack for a couple of years or so and I've recently given it a wee remodel with GS500 wheels and and opposed 4 pots etc.
When resembling the stainless laser tail pipe and jawa down pipe I just cant seam to get a seal between the the down pipes and the link pipe.
Can anyone tell me if there should be a gasket material at this section and if so where I get some. The leak is causing the idle to hang up as the system is drawing in air.
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks
Scott.

hi there the origanal pipes have a copper/mesh gasket , ive just fitted motad stainless downpipes and this gasket has to be fitted , but you must have a large gap if this is missing. from the picture the downpipes look like my motads . if the gap is only small make a gasket/sleeve from some sheet aluminume/ copper / tin, etc. zigzag , looks good with the wheels well tasty

it should just clamp up without any seal or gasket.
i run the laser rear can and link pipe it's designed to fit the standard system and aftermarket headers that have the same diameter pipe work.

If all else fails, just go the Halfords or the like and buy some exhaust join sealant.
It's like toothpaste that you spread over the joint surface.
You then run the engine and it expands and sets with the heat...

Thanks for the prompt reply folks.
I'll make up a gasket from aluminium sheet and give it a try.
