Help me??
Hey all..
Does anyone have some old 1990-1994 XT600E (I dunno the part number of the 1995-2003 is the same) throttle cables that are worn or even broken that would be able to send it to me? I'll pay for the shipping!
I want to try n make some throttle cables to work with my new carb since my 1990 XT6E throttle cables are a very tight fit...probably too tight..
The part of the cables that I really need is: take a look at the picture
As for the rest I need make it myself...

Check ebay there was a seller there, for like $35US he was selling NOS.
I bought a set only to find that they will not fit the XT 550.
I improvised and replaced the throttle assembly with a Domino 1/4 turn I had from another project.
I went to a single pull cable, and modified the handlebar end by trimming back the plastic housing till I got the cable length I needed. Its still almost to short but its working fine.
Now I have a spare to to hack up when I wear the one out.

hey there..
I asked for old ones because I actually have to cut the cables as I just need those little parts (actually just the left one)... the cable needs to "grow" at least about 5 inches so I can route it elsewhere besides under the fuel tank..

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
