Hi
I had no real problems replacing mine. The hardest part was removing the leftover bits of rusty staples. Do it on a nice warm day so its pliable and it will go better. Take your time to make sure it lines up nice and evenly on the seat base too. Good luck

Meant to say as well. I used a standard type wall stapler. If i was doing another seat i would probably invest in a heavy duty one. The one i used worked but i did have to have a few attempts to get the staples in the seat base plastic to sit flush.

Thanks!
My seat foam was in good condition really so i didnt have to do anything to it. I suppose it depends whereabouts your cuts are. May be a suitable glue ? Sorry cant help with that part. Feel free to ask with any other questions though

Hi xtrock!

I have done a couple of seats. Invest in an electric or air stapler. It will make the job a lot easier.
After you cut the rough size of material, use one staple in the front of the seat, then one in the back, stretching the material so it is just tight. Then start working the sides. The additional stretch will prevent the material from folding when the foam is under pressure when sitting on it.
My foam was somewhat "done" from being 12 years old. I just added a foam layer on top of the existing foam and you can't tell from looking at the seat (sure feels better riding though).
Hope this helps.

I took advantage of a pro seat recoverer not too far from me, a couple of months ago. Rode up, gave him seat, and two hours and £100 later......a nice new thicker saddle. After 14 years I think my backside deserved it!

Not sure whether its like that to follow the contours of the side panels as opposed to the stitching. Didnt have "yamaha" writing on the original one either. Just glad it fitted okay really.
