Mechanic in Cairo
Does anyone know a good mechanic for a Tenere in Cairo and/or Nairobi? We plan on getting a full service when we get to Cairo and again in Nairobi.

Hi, I'm in Cairo and also have 55W Tenere. Give me a call when you reach us down here and I'll point you in the right direction. If you can do the full service yourself, you can use my garage/workshop. It's a well equiped closed garage where I do all the work on my Tenere and Jeep. Email me for my phone number.
PS: There aren't many Teneres down here so parts may take some time to get and they will be more expensive that what you're used to in Europe. Either bring them with you if you can spare the space or let me know before hand and I'll try to have them ready by the time you arrive.
Take care,

Hey,
I replied to your email, maybe you didn't get it. Anyway, to email me click on the email icon above my post. Or just give me a ring when you arrive inside Egypt. 012-2156446. Also I'll be in and out of Cairo a few times in the next couple of weeks. If I'm unreachable, call my friend Raed 012-2424330. He'll be able to help you till I get back.

A few of us out here use Mohamed Road 77 in Maadi. Hes is generally good, bit slow. You might want to be present while he works, as petrol, and other minor parts eg horns have been known to go missing!

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
