Mounting Hardware fro Givi bags on XT600E

While in New Zealand I saw a couple XT600's with Givi bags on them and several of the bike rental agencies over there advertise their XT600 rentals as having Givi side bags yet I have not been able find anyone who can tell me where to purchase the side bag mounting hardware. Can anyone help? I will buy new or used!!!!!!

Thanks

Scott

givi

hi mate,
do you mean soft bags or hard cases? i picked up the latest givi catalogue last week and im sure they had a wingrack fitting kit for the XT600E. if not they do a universal fitting kit with lots of bits to fit it to pretty much anything.
unfortunately i left it at work, so i will have a look for you and post the part nos (if they do) on here.

also have a look at KAPPA luggage because its the "skoda" version of givi, just as good but cheaper, and seach on HuBB for racks, there are lots of ingenious people out there

Dave

Thanks for helping. Yes, I'm refering to hard bags. Went to the Kappa site they had pretty much the same things I've found from Givi -- nothing specific to the XT600 except a top rack. The racks I saw on the bike in NZ were actually the tubular type and I remeber back in like 1998 that Touratech also carried specific tubular racks for the XT but now I can't seem to find anything -- which I expected in the U.S. since the XT hasn't been sold here for 10 plus years but I was hoping that in countries where is is still available I might be able to still find something specific. I am aware of the universal kit for the Wing Rack though the guy I talked to at Givi was skeptical as to whether it could be made to work on the XT. I'm about too give it a try though. If the catalog you have has a specifc application for the XT please send the info along. Either way thanks for your help.

hi scott, sorry for stringing you along it was the new 660 i saw the side racks for, they only do the monorack topbox for ours. if you saw them in new zealand then givi must have done them at one stage, but discontinued them. its worth asking around the givi and kappa stockists, someone might have a pair lying about.

as to the wingrack not fitting, i reckon it would easily fit with a bit of jiggery pokery, have a look at the subframe on your XT, youve got several lugs welded on there, the indicator mounts, the mounts for the rear mudguard, some juicy big 8mm screws for the pillion handles, and the pillion footrests are in a good position.
