That's actually the same fender from the same seller I bought mine from..
Yer I got them, they're right here by the side of the computer with my Trailtech dashboard and that survival Flint I also bought..
I'm really worried I can't get that fuel screw out of the carb
If I can't it will be alot of money down the drain :\

I have ordered that fender
I wish I could suggest something for you to get that screw out the carb but I am sure your technical knowledge is greater than mine.
Actually I have not even looked at my carb yet, I will in Autumn when I attempt to fit the Dynojet kit.
I had a couple of bolts sheer off on the XT when I first got it (1 was the frame drain plug) and bought a broken bolt/damaged screw extractor set.
Did not have a huge amount of success with them and ended up drilling through the bolt with a tiny drill and working my way up until just the thread was left and managed to get it out that way.
P.S, those flints are great firestarters, reminds me of the Ray Mears series, not sure if you get that in your part of the world.

Did you fit any of those parts to your bike yet Vando, or are you still recovering from your Birthday?
I fitted the fender, the 4 metal washers from the original fit stright into it but it is a bit tight for the headlight cables that are routed on top.
It also needs some length cut off as it hits the headers.

Hey!
Nope, I haven't build the bike back up again yet..
had a few major stepbacks on some other issues non bike related so I've yet to get my mojo back on and put the bike back together...
I did however already fit the front fork fast bleed screws on the forks..they look good xD
so, does or doesn't the color match the XT's original??!?!
A few more things I've done is I've removed part of the interior of the WR450 exhaust but kept the end baffle as I don't want more noise than it should have, managed to get the fuel screw out of the carb and got the broken screw from the front fork lower leg that holds(tightens) the front wheel axle on to the forks...
Well.. The front fender looks good! if you have to trim them a bit than do it!
Oh, one thing, my cats threw my WR450 exhaust on the floor those m r f ers and it now has some scratches on it so now I won't swap the front of the exhaust with the rear :\

So I'm starting to put the bike back up together..
I've only put the frame on the engine (yes engine is on a ''bench'' I made lol) the swingarm and the rear shock(periodically)...
But I'm kinda of suspicious that something isn't quite right..
one of the shock's lower Y piece isn't simetrical..it's offset to one of the sides...
Does anyone know the exact position?
Also, I've noticed the swingarm has a little side play when it's not with the rear shock fitted!
Is this normal?
I'm downloading the workshop manual.. hope there is some info on these issues in it!

May be a good idea to take the play out of the swinging arm with shims either side, you'll never get a better opportunity.

well, I'm missing a shim! lol
Have a look at this parts diagram:
I the missing shim is the one with the part number 49...
Can anyone tell me the Inside and outside diameter of the shim and the thickness?
Either that or I'll have to order it from Yamaha :\
oothef how exactly should I do that?
Can you tell me how many shims or thickness needed on both sides to take the play out?

The last time I did it was on a twin shock bike which was incredibly simple compared to the assembly you have there! Build up the swinging arm but don't tighten anything then use feeler gauges to check the clearance between swinger and frame, also check clearance around shock linkages.
I used to shim them so they just fell smoothly under their own weight, but as I say, much simpler int' olden days......
If you do spend time attending to fine detail the bike will handle better and be more durable as everything is held in position so wear is minimised, less unwanted movement, less opportunity for ingress of dirt.
I've always been in engineering so found shims or made them from shim steel, if you know no one, Yamaha may be the only option, then you are dependant on mass production clearances, which is good enough (just not usually as good as it can be....)
If the Y isn't symmetrical, is the top shock mount offset to one side?

hey there! well.. I ended up just fitting a shim between one of the 5's and 6's and it all lines up good and has no play left
So now, I'm at the point where I have the frame on the engine and the swingarm + rear shock also fitted...
Now I don't know if I'll wait for the two pieces of the front of the frame that secure the engine to the frame to be painted 0R if I fit the pieces full of dirt and rust so I can put the wheels on her...
I still can't start on building the air filter holder or airbox to secure the air filter, TCI, battery and all those little electrics...
One thing, My Trailtech Vapor stealth computer has arrived ALELUIA!
The computer and the indicator dashboard looks sweeeeeeeeeeet
Oh, still have the reassemble the carburetor with the new jets and stuff...
I'll maybe do this today still...

So I've already managed to make the routing of the carb to airfilter/airbox air ducts...
It's kinda rough as it's only the "sketch" but it should work if I can't find someone to make me the routing with aluminum pipe...
I'll take a picture and I'll post it here!
I haven't done much on the bike because now it's the biggest music festival here in the Azores and there are some pretty better to Do

So I've just finished fabricating a prototype for my rear shock raiser..
Tomorrow morning I'm going the take the bike to a welder so he can make something much stronger and sturdier as the prototype I built was made with some very weak materials and a lot of imagination lol
I'm gonna take some pictures before I disassemble everything AGAIN :\ so I can take it to the welder...
OR
Make a 2D drawing and give it to him so he can fabricate it accordingly...(which can take some time for me to draw it nicely in SolidWorks with all the measurements!
One thing is for sure... Now, the seat height is spot on and everything clears the carburetor-to-airfilter air ducts!
Next things to do are:
1) sending the design (2D drawings) of the air ducts to a car specialty shop so they can make me the air ducts in radiator type rubber tube..
2) Adapt the WR450 Exhaust to my likings
3) fit the new pro-built shock raiser
4) Make the necessary brackets/holders for the airfilter, battery, TCI, electrics, etc...
5) Fabricate the Trailtech Vapor computer mount
6) Increase the side stand height a couple of inches
7) Take everything that hasn't been painted or needs to be retouched to a painter!
8) Reassemble the whole bike
9) Tune the carburetor
10) take the bike to take the anual vehicle inspection (forgot the right name for it ) it's necessary to do this in order to make the Insurance
11) make the insurance!
12) Take a lot of pictures
13) Ride like hell xD

Few updates...
- repositioned the air filter! (much better now!!tomorrow will glue the PVC pipes nicely)
- made the new rear shock mount myself.. just need to make some good spacers and it's done! maybe have it welded... The triangle-shaped shock raiser should become a bit stronger welded...
- fitted the Trailtech Vapor computer + dashboard (the front disc rotor already had a magnet bolt from Trailtech fitted to lol but I replaced it anyway because it the magnet was kinda loose) but still haven't been able to take out one more rotor screw so I can fit another magnet-screw..
- I cut a couple of inches off the WR450 connecting pipe so I could see how I want it fitted! looks great but still need someone to fabricate the connection so it can fit to the KEDO downpipes and still use the subframe mount point..
Things are getting some shape now
