rear mudguard/rack
hello everyone i am trying to gather parts via e bay etc to get my xt600 on the road and i have ordered a rear mudguard/light/rack for it but because i havent got an original one on it i am not sure of the correct way it fits on althought when i get it it will probably be obvious. So i was wondering does anybody know where i can get some pictures of how they fit together because although i have downloaded nmanuals etc i cant find any. if anyone has any ideas that will be excellent .By the way it appears my frame is a 34l (kick start only model) but it has a 1vj tank/forks/engine and i think seat,I am not sure about the seat but i have got about a 3 inch gap at the back which i hope the rack etc will hide and i will probably put a small tool bag on to cover up but at the moment it seems like i need a snap on top box to cover up the gap it is horrible. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Me too!
hey wrussell, if you ever find the answer to this, then please port - I have the same problem; a 1VJ seat on a 34L frame and a big ugly gap. I was wondering if the Acerbis rear fender might help a bit, as it can probably be fixed to rise a bit behind the seat, but other ideas welcome.
(the original seat and rack got cut around to fit a badly thought-out rear aux fuel tank and were only good for chucking away afterwards, ho hum)

update
hello xtfrog just to update where i am so far is i have got a rear mudguard/lamp from a 34l and the small luggage rack . I tried to take off the old mudguard i have on it but one of the bolts was rusted and the allen key just turns in the hole (how annoying) when i looked how to fit these parts on i now know someone has removed one of the brackets which is welded to the frame to bolt the mudguard to and the rack does not fit because a 1vj seat seems to be longer or at least comes further back so my brother has got a welder and a bit of adjusting this rack is going to fit ,when done i will try to post some pics . good luck and i will keep you posted good luck wrussell.
