Tenere 1VJ problems with battery charging
Tenere 1VJ does not charge battery, so I measured resistance between white wires coming from stator:
W1-W2 = 1.8 OHM
W1-W3 = 2.6 OHM
W2-W3 = 1.6 OHM
This seems like OK values to me. Then I checked resistance between white wires and ground (minus on battery):
W1-Ground = 1.4 OHM
W2-Ground = 1.6 OHM
W3-Ground = 2.1 OHM
This does not look OK. If I understand correctly this values should much higher. What else could I measure to narrow down possible causes for my problems?
If stator is faulty, can I replace it with stator from 3AJ Tenere?
Thanks

continuity, not resistance.
See post number 22 in this thread, and the original post for the symptoms (maybe yours are similar?):-

The above link only tells you that you should have high resistance from the stator to ground. You don't - therefore the stator is faulty.
The real question is
Is the 3AJ Tenere stator compatible with the 1VJ Tenere?

It seems like 1VJ and 3AJ stators are the same, atleast according to this site The Ténéré Forum • View topic - Stators and pick ups
In few days I will have 3AJ stator, than I will know for sure if it fits in 1VJ engine.

Finally stator from 3AJ tenere arrived, and dimensions are the same, but problem is that wire colors are not the same, and wires on new stator do not have connectors, so I have to figure out which wire on 1VJ connector goes to which wire on 3AJ pickup.
1VJ connector:
Black/White
Green/White
Blue
3AJ pickup
Black
Blue/White
Green/White
Disregard text above, I was really tired when I was looking at wire colors.
3AJ startor & pickup work flawlessly in 1VJ engine.

Actually, I mentioned this more to point out that, in some cases, resistance values tell us information and, in other cases, continuity testing tells us some useful information.
