tenere tank wanted!
hey folks,
i just picked up a 1990 xt600e, and would really love to slap a tenere tank and fairing from the 88-90 3aj tenere on it. i know there would be some rejiggering involved, but i'm not too concerned about that. got a whole workshop to make a mess of.
failing that, i'd be happy to find an earlier tenere tank/seat combo.
anyone out there have anything they want to get rid of? i'll consider any tenere tank/seat/fairing, any condition, any location.
thanks,
mike

Hi Mike
I have an Acerbis 23L Tank to fit an XT600E for sale. It is w hite in colour with scruffy Yamaha stickers. It has twin fuels taps with hoses fitted, a screw-on Acerbis sealing cap and a mounting bracket to go across the front. The tank fits onto the original rubber bungs each side of the frame and bolts at the rear with a single bolt. You can use your existing seat with it.
This tank has only been used for 9 months and has some minor scratches on it through use but nothing major. A new tank is £300 without the taps and cap! (they are another £35!). If you fancy it, it's yours for a bargain £120 delivered within the UK.
Cheers
Martin

Tenere Tank Seat Fairing
Hi Mike,
I have a twin headlight Tenere fairing for sale which came off a 1987 XT600ZE
Tenere 1VJ which I bought from Italy last year. I have put the bike back to standard single headlight nose cone fairing with a small screen, hence the twin headlight fairing is for sale. It comes complete with both headlights, mounting brackets, wiring, screen, headlamp guards and if required, low level front mudguard. It is not the fairing from the 3AJ model Tenere, but is similar style. If you are interested, I can e-mail you some pictures.
Post a reply and let me know.
Cheers Cliff from Cardiff

cliff, that sounds like it might have some of what i'm looking for.
however, i get the impression you only want to sell the fairing and hardware, as well as low fender. ideally, i'd really love to get some more fuel range first, and any fairing that comes into play would be icing on the cake.
any interest in parting out the tank that goes with the fairing?

Tenere Tank & Fairing
Hi Mike, sorry I have not got a tank available, just a fairing which is essentially
designed to fit the 1985 - 1987 1VJ XT600 model Tenere, so if you can pick up a standard 23L tank for this model the fairing is designed to be 100% compatible with this tank. Hope this helps.
Cheers Cliff

Try eBay just been looking for bits and there are a few tanks on there at the moment that might be of interest.
