Tools & Spares for tour
Hi All,
I have a XT600E, 2002 model, 4000miles on the clock. Besides a few cosmetic additions (barkbusters, center stand, power cable, rear rack....etc....), she is standard and in good condition.
Ill be riding later this year from UK to South Africa, usual west coast milage, possibly a few detours but no extreme zig-zagging and stitching up the continent.
I will be giving the bike a "minor" service before hand, riding to Morocco on my existing tyres, before changing to Heidenau K60's.
The question is......what spares and tools needs to be packed based on milage, route and bike setup ?
A complete list would be GREATLY appreciated !!!!! - including the number of items required (ie: how many air fliters, now many liters of engine oil (or sourced on route etc), additional tyres, are additional brake and clutch levers required with barkbusters ?, clutch cables, grease, spanners and sizes (I have been marking all the spanner sizes Ive used, but havent taken the engine apart), inner tubes, how many puncture repair kits, chain, sprocket, chain lube, WD40, duck tape, wire, nuts and bolts.......and on and on and on......)....and a caravan of camels to carry it all !
What should I replace before heading out ? - should it be a major rather than minor service before I head ?
This is a big ask, but thanks for all replies !
