TT600s same problem as NIXA
Hi NIXA, did you solve the problem with your TT600? Mine has a spark, but won't run on idle and just like it doesn't get any fuel. It is in a motorbike shop now and they think it is the CDI, but not sure. The problem is very similar as yours... please help/advise, thanks!

NOT same problem
Ramses your problem is different, if you say that you have spark.
Nixa DID NOT have spark.
In your case should be a fuel problem. First of all check rubber pipes between carb and cylinder head, they are prone to get old and have micro holes. Take carb off, pipes in your hands and check them throughly. Search them on ebay at 35 euro, was written many times here how to find them.
Second thing to do is check carb, clean it fully, maybe it's only the float needle.
Third clean all fuel line from tank to carb.

Thanks for the help. The bike is in a bike shop and the problem doesn't lay with the carburettors. When I read NIXA's story, in the end he got another CDI, but still didn't get it running properly, but there is no explanation what he did after that...

Just fyi, when I bought the bike, I replaced the rubber connectors between the carb and the cilinder, the bike ran great. It suddenly stopped working on the highway at 120kph and I was stranded. It worked once again for a brief moment but after that it never came back alive.
When we kick the back the engine starts, but immediately dies and doesn't run on iddle. It has a spark, when I kick it. The mechanic checked the carbs and said these are ok.
It is a mysterious problem...

It looks very similar like NIXA's problem after he got a new cdi...
Hey guys, I have one good news and one not so good, but lets start with more importan one.
1. CDI from IGNITECH works on Yamaha TT600R, 1999.
This is great because the original one costs 600euro and their is 170 euro.
So if somebody find himself in similar situation, just order one from IGNITECH, no fear
2. The bad, although CDI was the problem it was not the only one.
It has spark but it won't start, it is like it doesn't have fuel, I drained the carb but still nothing, it makes a few cycles only when I removed the spark plug and injected a little fuel directly into cylinder. I think that something is wrong with the carb... But I hope that the guys in the workshop will figure it out.

Anyway, the fact that I don't have an electric starter doesn't make finding the problem easier. I only raod the bike for 200km after I got it, so very frustrating that it already stopped running. It only has 11000km in the clock, so I thought it would be reliable...

I wonder if I have spark, it can still be a CDI problem...?? While trying to get it back alive I once could keep it running with a little bit of throtle, but it ran like it was running on diesel... pfff then I decided to take it to a motorbike shop for a diagnosis... but they are also struggling with finding the root cause...

Forget about ignition unit. BTW you replaced it and the problem continues
You r done with point one (replaced collectors) OK
point two carburettor must be not only drained, but disassembled at least in the low part, all the two main jets and idle jet (total 3 of them) inspected checking for dirt that closes flow. This seems the case, as you say that bike starts but like a diesel. Also the float needle must be removed, there is a screw under it, and a filter inside, that can be closed by dirt.
I remember read in an old post how much petrol should go from tank if you put a bottle under the disconnected pipe... anyway if you try, it must flow quickly.
don't trust mech if he says that carb is ok IT MUST BE OPENED AND SERVICED FULLY
