TTR600RE Carbs - jet type/code advice
I need to get some different jets for me carbs, and ideally need to know which types they are?
Heres a link to Allens who stock loads of stuff, but don't have any details of what the jets are. Anyone pick out which they are from the list......
Allens Performance Mikuni & Keihin Carbs
I have fitted a 165 main in the primary ( N100604 ) and not touched the secondary carb yet. The thread was a bit snug though
I was after a 155 & 160 (165 is too rich) for the primary, and a 150 & 155 for the secondary. Looking at the manual, they look to be different types of jets in each side :confused1:

Right then (even if nobody is interested) I have sourced some jets....
The primary mains are easy enuff, and about £7 each.
The secondary carb is a bit trickier, coz Yamaha don't do anything bigger than the standard 145 Now I could but anuvver std jet (£12 ) and run a drill thru it, but thats gonna be a bit hit & miss.
These jets are a strange size, as they seem to have a large thread.
The bike does run reasonably OK at the moment, but it is a bit "fluffy" on initial throttle (bit rich), so if I try a 155, I really would like to go up at least to a 150 on the secondary to make sure its rich enuff on larger throttle openings.
Allens can match jets, but need to know the spec of it .... which means taking it out & checking it, then ordering one.... but the bike will be off the road - and its Xmas

hi piggy liked the pics of your rear shock fitting, my old pipe looks good maybe this site www.off-the-road. de has info on jets and setting up lots of other very nice parts for our bikes anyway thanks steve

Iv heard of people drilling out the secondary and taping threads to fit a standard mikuni jet. Jets would probably work out alot cheaper too.

Could be an option......
The secondary main jet appears to be a rather large thread.... and access from underneath is via a long narrow tube, which is a bit of a struggle
As its a bit cold out in the garage, I can't be arsed to take the carbs off and have a fight with cold/hard rubber manifolds.... so gonna leave it for a bit now....

you might check www.off.the.road.de for carbtuning on the TT600R(E). they sell jetting kits for these bikes.

Update - Not much really Those new jets I was ordering never got processed/ordered/sent, so not gonna bovver for a bit
Coz the weathers beed so sh*te, bl**dy freezing in the garage, I haven't been in "contact" with me bike for a couple of weeks...
Anyhow, its warmed up a bit now, so I was in the garage & took the carbs off again - changed the main jets from the 165 main I put in a while back, for a 155 (std is 150).
Whlist I had them off, I cleaned them out, especially the needle valve filter (fuel control under floats) which had a bit of sh*te in it. I wanted to check this bit out coz I did have an issue where the bike cut out temporarily at flat out in high gear (like when overtaking ) and seemed like fuel starvation? I checked the flow from the fuel tap & that seem OK.
Then spent the next 3/4 hr getting the b*****ds back on the bike. I've worked on many bikes over the years, and these carbs are a sod to get on/off
After re-assembling the bike, it started up pretty much on the button.... and sounds sweet - Just need to find time for a test ride. Probably take it to work tomorrow
Let you know how I get on.
