what wheels fit xt600 '01?

Im thinking of getting some used rear wheel and front wheel and put winter tyres on it for use of the xt in the winter.

I searched ebay but nothing came up, but maybe theres some other motorbikes wheels that have plugnplay fit onthe xt600? Maybe some yz450 or similar? If anyone know which other bikes wheels would fit or have suggestions for what to look for that would help.

Was also wondering how the xt600 does in the winter..how does the body tackle snow, will it rust to pieces? Ill ofcourse clean it after every ride so it doesnt just stand there tucked in snow.

So I need a 1990+ xt600e wheel but they are hard to find. I was hoping someone knew about any other yamaha brands wheels that also fit. On ebay i can only find wheels older then 1990.. Doesnt any of the yz, yzf or wr bikes wheels fit the xt600e?

Im shocked-

Not sure what this is called in english but you know those places where they crush old bikes and cars and take parts and sells those parts..

Well I emailed one in norway and asked if they had any used wheels from a xt lying around.. and I got a reply that no they didnt right now but he could tell me once hegot it and the price would be a whopping 7500KR for 2 rims, thats 1268$ for 2 rims and i dont even know if thats with the hubb and tire..

So I decided i dont want a new set of wheels after all, driving in the winter would just make the xt rust away anyway.

Why not just swap tyres for the winter
If you decide to change wheels will you get new brake discs for your new wheels and a sprocket or use your old ones.
I think the older XT wheels should fit as I have seen XT600e with alloy wheels and the rear is 18".
I would only change wheels if you can get a pair very cheap.
Where abouts are you

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
