which kickstart
hi there my 43f has cracked its kickstarter again at the bottom of the lever where it swivels on the boss. this is the 3rd and last time i can weld it up,its my fault ,when i first got it it had no decompresser cable and i did not realise the extra presure on the lever would eventualy crack it. it lasted about 1500 miles and a intermitant bad starting phase then got wobbley and cracked. do,s anybody know off a diffarant bike kickstarter that fits ,i saw a early tt600 with a chrome one on ,im sure ive herd xs750 ones fit , second hand xt600 ones are thin on the ground and new ones are £80.00 ,my mate has a tdr 250 spare one which looks like it may fit but the whole thing dos not look very strong. many thanks zigzag

kickstarter
cheers for that vando ,i now have another problem mybe ,there is up and down movement in the kickstarter shaft ,the lip on the seal moves a small amount when i wiggle shaft up and down . i have never had this on any bike ive owned . is this normal on a 43f i dont know if it was like that when i got bike 2500 miles ago , but the kickstart was fine . so the morel of this sad situation is make sure you have decompresser fitted and working . so please all kick start owners go wiggle your shafts and report back ( 1985 xt600 43f 20000 miles). take care zigzag.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
