The default setting is only a "typical average" position (not sure what it is for your model - 2 turns?).
The way to do it is warm emgine thoroughly.
Set idling about 1200 rpm.
Now turn the screw in until the engine just starts to slow/faulter - this is setting #1.
Stop engine and count how many turns to wind it fully in (gently to the stop), then wind it back out to where it was, #1.
Start bike again.
Now wind it out until engine speeds up - keep going until it just starts to slow/faulter, counting how many turns you do from #1, this will be #2.
Now you can set the screw to mid-point of #1 - #2.
Simples!
