No, they aren't the same. The 550 carb doesn't have a membrane on the secondary. They *are* very similar apart from that, though, and a 600 carb diagram / disassembly guide should be enough to get you started. If you can find a 600 carb, you might be able to adapt it to fit, although I'm not sure about the throat sizes.
As for a refit kit, I don't know of anyone who makes one for the 550 - even louis.de don't seem to stock one. I have never bought a refit kit anyway, I've always done mine using a bunch of tiny o-rings and some gasket paper. Rather than buying gasket paper, you should be able to blag enough to do a carb from your local garage.
You'll need carb cleaner, compressed air, gasket paper, o-rings of various small sizes, and some petrol. You'll probably want to replace all the body screws, IIRC they are m4x10 and m5x10 pan head. whatever you do, don't go to ebay and buy a stainless bolt set for your motor (there is a guy selling one that covers side panels and carbs) - the problem here is not that it won't fit, but that it's stainless, and electrolytic corrosion between alu and stainless will eventually (possibly rapidly) demolish your motor and carbs.
WRT disassembly / assembly, the only really tricky bit is the pin holding the float. It goes *out* in the direction of the arrow, and *in* the other way (i.e. against the direction of the arrow).
Stock settings are, if my translation is good: - Main Jet - #130, both bodies

- Pilot screw 1 1/4 out +- 1/4 for '82 model, 1 1/2 +- 1/2 83 model
- Body 1 needle, Yam #5C31 '82, Yam #5C34 '83
