xt600z 1vj (CDI type) no spark after new wiring loom
Hey guys,
I have made a complete new wiring loom on my xt600z 1vj (CDI type)
first: how to bypass neutral and sidestand switch directly from the cdi? as i dont have either of the switches I just connected the wires directly to the starter cut off relay and neutral relay. Engine is crancking, but there is no spark. Engine was running normaly before I started messing wit the wires.
I did notice a very week spark once, it is probably just something I overlooked, but since I already cut the old loom to pieces...
Second: I also dont have the original stop switch (wich was somehow bypassed before I started working on new loom) and my start switch is also missing, so I am now, as before, using the horn button to start.
All the lights and neutral indicator and switch work fine.
Any ideas?

would disconnect every thing and make a temporary circuit connecting CDI, sensor, energy winding and coil to check that the system components can spark
if thats ok, then it simply a wiring mistake

I already tried disconnecting all the lights and blinkers, how would you suggest bypassing the sidestand and clutch switch? I think that this is the most probable cause of not sparking...

I dont have any wiring diagram for this one, but the B/W on later models was looming with sidestand switch and clutch switch. B/W to B/Y and B/W to B(CDI) if i remember correct?

I have a wiring diagram, I guess I will have to repair my old loom and try that, I obviouslly got something wrong.
According to the diagram, there are only 2 ground points, one is from the starter motor to ground and second is battery negative to ground, how does the rest of the wiring ground to?
I have blue and blue\yellow wires coming from cdi, that should be for sidestand and clutch switch. My question here is, what happens when sidestand switch engaded, does it ground that wire? and why are those two relays important, can they be somehow bypassed.
And what if I only wanted to use kickstart and bo lights at all, how would you bypass all the electrics, if you just wanted the bike to run\spark?
Thougt this would be an easy one, I guess I was really wrong about that one...

Well if you have diagram just follow the wires and you find out what to do, if you dont have ground you dont have any voltage. So a bulb have ground and wires go around and end up with ground from battery, frame is used. You never remove a sidestand switch, just idiots would gamble with this. Have been lots of accidents because the sidestand is out when you are trying to make lean to side.. Its simple switches open or closed to ground, diagram shows. By this time you would have the bike wired up many times instead of trying to make it simple and not very functional. Good luck!

I understand the diagram, and I know the basics around 12v dc and how it should work. And dont worry, sidestand switch is going to be added later, once I get it running, I had an accident about 10 years ago, when the spring fell off and those bikes didnt even have a switch, lucky for me, I was only doing about 40km/h
If the bike came with a complete wiring from the PO, I wouldnt even bother, but since there was no sidestand/clutch switch, bo horn, no start button, no kill switch, no blinkers an even no brake switches, an all new wiring is a must, if I want to make it roadworthy.
So first thing is the spark and I will deal with the rest later on.

Oh, and one other thing, how can I bypass the kill switch?
the more I look at the diagram, the less sence it makes

Bike runs again, it was the sidestand switch afterall, and one other ground...
