Had one and so did my mate. They were a year apart and a world of difference in the handling. I don't know if mine had the suspension badly upgraded but his felt more compliant and handled way better at any speed. Not that mine was bad but his just felt more confidence inspiring.
Apart from that the bars were just the wrong angle for my thumb joints, which would be in severe pain after just 50 miles.
But that engine is something else. Brilliant torque just piles on as you go up the rev range and it really shifts. It was an Isle of Man race winner before the R1 came out.
Brakes are ace and well up to stopping the bike from speed. And you will be seeing speed, lots of it.
Good weather protection too.
All round a very good bike with the odd niggle. Just don't expect top fun at 50 mph, see-over-cars ride height or decent comfort like you get from the XT.
