Shipments done by Travellers

The HU Shipping Database!

From THIS page, you can find details of shipments ALREADY MADE by travellers, both air and sea, so you can plan your own shipment.

For each shipment, the details include Shipping Date, Cost, Shipper Contact details and a Description of the experience, often including very detailed and extremely useful information about the requirements for crating or the paperwork involved at the destination location.

If you are aware of any more up-to-date information, or you know of any shipping details for locations which aren't listed below:

Please let us know here for minor details, or
Submit information on a shipment YOU HAVE ALREADY MADE here.

Thanks to all who have contributed this information, keep it coming!

NOTE: This is not our normal view, but Google's API has somehow broken the view with a map and everything nicely laid out. We will fix it as soon as possible, but it's a very big job for us. Any Google API experts feel free to contact us! For now this will have to do, sorry.

Usage: Enter one or more of the fields, as you wish. Blank field means "all". Be sure to use correct country names, e.g. "United Kingdom" not UK or England. Unfortunately "united states" (united states of america doesn't work) gets United Kingdom as well, just work down to the bottom or last page. Not case-sensitive. Results sorted by newest first.

Shipment: From Brisbane, Australia to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - July, 2006

Air
4/5 - Good

Hellmann Logistics

I bought a Harley Davidson crate from the dealer in Brisbane ($160 au) and packed the bike myself. A 98 BMW F650 fits nicely with only the mirrors and windscreen removed. Room left over to fit in the Touratech topbox and 1 pannier too. Delivered the crated bike to Hellmanns myself and picked it up at KL cargo in Malaysia the following week. Malaysian end was very easy, carnet stamped with no problem and cost me $79 rm to get the bike from MasKargo. Uncrated the bike there and was told I could just leave the crate (not sure how right that was but rode off with it still sitting there ) All hassle free

$1260 au including DG cert

Graeme Lee
info@au.hellmann.net

Greame Lee is a really good man. We recommend him very high. He really know what he does and there were no "surprise" in the end. ;-)
From the first contact to the departure of your bike it is possible to do it easy in a week. He give you all information you will need. He know nice guys from Dangerous Goods. No problems all the way.

You will use a crate and here he can't help you, but when we were in Darwin, there were a mount of old used crates at te local Kawasaki Dealer, he also have a big business with Quads. With this information you will find him. Our crate costs 30 AUS$.

Departures from Darwin to K.L. were every saturday.

But there is one problem: All the cargo-airlines have a stop in Singapure and the bureaucracy there must be terrible. We know, it now... Because there was one copy of a paper left they stopped our bike for 5 days! Without telling anybody.
So we wait in K.L. and nobody know what is happened with our bike.... In the end Graeme Lee sort it all out for us and then it was easy to pick up the bike at the airport in K.L.

The pickup was only 14 US$ and a thing from 3 hours. The airport-staff were very helpful and friendly. Nobody try to get some extra-money from us. It was great!

The costs:

1,55 AUS$ per Kilo
15 AUS$ Airwaybill Fee
185,90 AUS$ MAA Miscellaneus - DUE Agent
253,80 AUS$ MCC Miscellaneus - DUE Carrier
180 AUS$ Dangerous Goods

14 US$ in K.L. for Customs Inspection

1000 US$
