Shipments done by Travellers
The HU Shipping Database!
From THIS page, you can find details of shipments ALREADY MADE by travellers, both air and sea, so you can plan your own shipment.
For each shipment, the details include Shipping Date, Cost, Shipper Contact details and a Description of the experience, often including very detailed and extremely useful information about the requirements for crating or the paperwork involved at the destination location.
If you are aware of any more up-to-date information, or you know of any shipping details for locations which aren't listed below:
Please let us know here for minor details, or
Submit information on a shipment YOU HAVE ALREADY MADE here.
Thanks to all who have contributed this information, keep it coming!
NOTE: This is not our normal view, but Google's API has somehow broken the view with a map and everything nicely laid out. We will fix it as soon as possible, but it's a very big job for us. Any Google API experts feel free to contact us! For now this will have to do, sorry.
Usage: Enter one or more of the fields, as you wish. Blank field means "all". Be sure to use correct country names, e.g. "United Kingdom" not UK or England. Unfortunately "united states" (united states of america doesn't work) gets United Kingdom as well, just work down to the bottom or last page. Not case-sensitive. Results sorted by newest first.

We shipped our two Yamaha Teneres to Australia in September 2009 and picked them up in Sydney six weeks later. We had to crate the bikes and we used the orginal Tenere crate from our dealer which just a pallet and a thick cardboard box around it. Although you cannot put anything heavy on top this was no problem. The price of 580 EUR per bike includes the insurance and the harbour fee in Sydney (456,- AUS$). Pick up in Frankfurt am Main cost another 230 EUR. Everything was perfect. Brigitte Druskus was very helpful and patient. I can only recommend the company.

Shipment: From Magadan, Russian Federation to Vladivostok, Russian Federation - August, 2009

There are very few options for shipping onwards from Magadan.
We found two, DVS-Tours and FESCO/TransFES. Transfes could ship bike only, and could not take passengers, but it was CHEAP (2 motorcycles for 8,400 Roubles or about $280).
We preferred the option of travelling together on the same ship as the bikes.
The price was initially quoted at the higher rate of, I think, 700 Euros. But with the right balance of flirtation and asking questions, this soon became the price I've shown.
The price included transport of MOTORCYCLE and PASSENGER, this price includes a cabin for each passenger, and meals for the duration of the crossing. No extra hidden fees anywhere.
The ship is a coal ship that transports coal from Vladik to Magadan, for the power station. It travels back to Vladik empty, and as such a huge vessel with no weight to it, the crossing can be rough.
The gentleman I made the crossing with suffered badly from sea-sickness (the crew unanimously advised a traditional Russian cure, 100ml of Vodka, drank straight, in one) (This helped a little).
The crossing was quoted as taking 4-5 days, and actually took 6.
You may get bored on the boat, take books and entertainment.
The crew were superb, and helped with everything.
The food is terrible.
Any questions, pls email me. Hope this helps

We have used Mark before to transport bikes down to Malaga and he gave a first class service. We have booked him again to take our trail bikes to Mountain Madness in July and there is space available for more bikes if anyone is interested.
