Shipments done by Travellers

The HU Shipping Database!

From THIS page, you can find details of shipments ALREADY MADE by travellers, both air and sea, so you can plan your own shipment.

For each shipment, the details include Shipping Date, Cost, Shipper Contact details and a Description of the experience, often including very detailed and extremely useful information about the requirements for crating or the paperwork involved at the destination location.

If you are aware of any more up-to-date information, or you know of any shipping details for locations which aren't listed below:

Please let us know here for minor details, or
Submit information on a shipment YOU HAVE ALREADY MADE here.

Thanks to all who have contributed this information, keep it coming!

NOTE: This is not our normal view, but Google's API has somehow broken the view with a map and everything nicely laid out. We will fix it as soon as possible, but it's a very big job for us. Any Google API experts feel free to contact us! For now this will have to do, sorry.

Usage: Enter one or more of the fields, as you wish. Blank field means "all". Be sure to use correct country names, e.g. "United Kingdom" not UK or England. Unfortunately "united states" (united states of america doesn't work) gets United Kingdom as well, just work down to the bottom or last page. Not case-sensitive. Results sorted by newest first.

Had a wooden crate from previous shipping (Thailand-Hamburg) so I used this one. When you make your own take care you use the right wood. When you use pallets, buy steamed ones (export)
My BMW 1150GSA fitted into a crate of 3cub m.
Drain petrol an disconnect battery.
I brought the crate to Schiphol Airport where WBS is located.
The crate was measured. a weight was 425kg.
You can find the costs on their site as well as the transport time and ETA.
I paid 383 euro.
The company took care of the transport to Rotterdam and after sailing I got a copy of the seawaybill emailed.
With this seawaybill I went in Port Klang, 4 weeks later, to the agent there.
These people wanted me to take a clearing agent but I did everything by myself. Took me all day but it is very simple.
Pay harbourdues and get your clearingpapers, go to customs for stamping the carnet, go to the warehouse where the container is situated. Pay warehousedues, get some stamps on all kind of papers , let the customofficer inspect the bike and go back to customsoffice for the last stamp on the carnet. Go back to the warehouse, take the bike and ride.
Before all this you need the thirdparty insurance (AAM)and a good taxidriver who knows the port.

Shipping 384 euro
Harbourdues 125 euro
Warehouse dues 11 euro
Taxi for 3 hours 60 euro

All together 569 euro

I was an utter novice & Debbie made the process of shipping my BMW F800GS to New York straight forward & painless.

A few emails back & forth, then I dropped my bike to Southampton port three days prior to the sailing & picked it up as agreed two weeks later to the day from New York port, New Jersey.

No boxing or crating required as it went on the roll on, roll off service & for the 640GBP cost I considered it good value for money. Especially after speaking to friends who used James Cargo!

You'll still have to file an Import Security File (ISF) number independent of the shipper - I used Lauren Head, Import Manager at Transglobal, 2454 NW Dallas St.Grand Prairie, TX 75050. Her email is bran...@tgal.us

Importantly a non resident exemption is also required from the US Environmental Protection Agency, otherwise customs will not release your bike. It takes about two weeks and again is relatively straight forward. www.epa.gov

If I could do it all again & go biking around the America's tomorrow I would. 10 Months & 34,000 miles just wasn't enough.

Hope the above helps. Anything further required - just let me know.

This shipment was for two adventure motorcyles.
Contacted Josh via Email. He then supplied shipping agents details in Singapore who were Asian Groupage Services PTE Ltd who dealt with Singapore end. We arranged packing ourselves at Lee Wung Wooden Boxes Co PTE Ltd. which cost 590 SG$ for both bikes and included heat treatment of the timber, as per Australian regulations. The only reason we have not rated the service as 5 was that the shipment was delayed i.e. it took longer than quoted. We left the bikes in Singapore on July 14th and collected them in Perth on August 18th.

3,510 AU$ + 590 SG$

They are very helpfull coincidentally when delivering the bike (zeebrugge Belgium) and receiving (halifax, Canada) both days were on National holidays (yes this stuff actually does happen in real life, as if the national holiday was shipped from Belgium to Canada, so it was technically not possible to deliver nor receive the bike on both dates, through grate efforts by Hischam Mekhchane who works at B&B he made the impossible possible, and that actually make union members help me on their day off!!!
Also through bad financial planning, i wasn't actually able to pay for the shipping up untill after i had picked up my bike.
I'd give this company a big 10 plus for their care!
Very recomended

750 euro's
