Need a place to park
Finally plans are coming together . . . .
I need parking in Canada for 6 months !
At present (March 15th) I am in Istanbul, I have my Azerbaijan visas and will be waiting here until about 8th April where by then I should also have Uzbek & Turkmen.
Plan to hit road then and will be governed by visa dates which will see me therefore in Turkmenistan from May 8th to 13th then Uzbekistan for about a month.
My plan is to get visas for Kazak, Russia & Mongolia while in Tashkent (UZB).
Intention is to enter Mongolia about 2nd or 3rd week of June and be in Ulaanbaataar for the festival mid July.
It is at this point my plan can split ! Ideally I would like to travel through Russia to Magadan and ship my truck across to Canada, alternatively, I could return route back to Kazak.
Time will beat me. My partner is starting her job in Kuwait end of August. She will have to fly out of a logical point to ensure a 23rd of August arrival in Kuwait.
I will then need to travel on to either Canada or Kazakistan and find a suitable and safe place to park my truck for a few months while I too spend some time in Kuwait.
So here's the questions . . . .
1) anybody want to join us ? meet for a drink ? share a campsite ?
2) anybody have piece of a field / garden / shed that I can park my truck in for a few months safe keeping ?
Phil

PLans need to gel and where in Canada
Hi Phil,
It doesn't sound like your plans are confirmed yet but one thing you should know. Canada is the 2nd largest country in the world, so asking for a parking space in Canada for your 4X4 is akin to trying to find a needle in a haystack.
I'd suggest being more specific.

parking?
Thanks Brian/Sandra
Yes it is indeed slightly vague, but I am extremely flexible as to where I can go, it was really a request to find a trusting and familiar member of the hubb community which was/is important.
However, that said . . . . . . .
Vancouver. Or within lets say 800kms of Vancouver.
Safe place for what could be 12 or even 18 months rather than necessarily an easy accesible location is more important.
The plan (all be it 'vague' ! ) would be to park vehicle and then fly out to kuwait, so reasonable accesibility to an international airport would also be nice.
so? any ideas?
Phil.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
