Driving in the 'Stans
HI Kamil
Although I rode a motorbike, I met several people in four-wheeled vehicles in the 'Stans. For some reason there are always rumours flying around that right-hand drive cars are not allowed, but actually, amongst everyone I met, no-one has any problems crossing the borders.
I'm sure Ollie (Cornish Deity) will confirm this.
Good luck, it's a beautiful part of the world.

This is answer from my friend
Вопрос только в том, КОГДА люди ездили? Если я не ошибаюсь, запрет на правый руль ввели недавно. Даже выкладывали отчет, как люди были ВЫНУЖДЕНЫ везти машину на эвакуаторе через Таджикистан
The only question is, when people went? If I'm not mistaken, the ban on the right rudder introduced recently. Even laid out a report, as people were forced to drive a car on the evacuator through Tajikistan.

2009
We went in 2009 (Uzbekistan (from Kazakhstan), Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan) - about June - August I think, and it was fine with a RHD. I don't know if it's changed, but you could always try ringing the embassy. I know the embassy in London will answer questions, and their phone number is on their website, but from memory they are only open a couple of days of the week.
There is a potential problem with Azerbajain mind - but you usually have 3 days to get out of the country or to take your vehicle to the port (for the ferry). But to tell the truth I think they were making it up at the border, as I heard a lot of different variations about what you could do.
Off topic - Hello Tiffany - we move back to Cornwall on 1st Dec, so if you are about we should catch up

Two Aussies drove their RHD car from Melbourne to London and through the 'stans in 2009.

that news is dated 2008. Many people have driven it since. From reading the translated version (not great I know) It reads to me like you can no longer import RHD vehicles, but vehicles passing through/temp imports are ok.
how does everyone else interprete it?
