Hey Saab don't get your knickers in a knot m8.
It was only an observation and like Paul, I have heard nothing about any of the processes involved, so my comment still stands, there is more to QLD than the south east.
After attending the last meeting this year, no one at any stage mentioned the 2010 meet, so I assumed it was an exectutive decisoion made by Grant or someone else high up the chain.
I would also think the 2011 will be down south, so maybe 2012, if I am not back overseas by then. But, Winton is a nice town
Cheers

So it will be in south-east Queensland? As soon as it is confirmed with Grant, please let us know the exact location. Does this means Grant will come down too?
When is ANZAC day next year? Foregive me, I'm new in Australia, dont know these things yet. My wife and I will be looking forward riding over from WA to attend and help out at the venue.
Maybe we can arrange to meet other travellers at Alice Springs and ride across the Simpson desert or something like that occross together?

And the meeting is ???
Hi everyone,
I have been following the thread and I am keen to find out where it will be held as I am a teacher and I'll have to take time off to go. Is it going to be in Cooroy?
Just for future reference, one of my good friends has a rather large property just north of Cape tribulation in the far North. I have just spoken with him and he said if you every wanted have a HU meeting up there all you need to is ask. It would be a fantastic location, basically at the end of the creb track.
Just a thought.
I also like the Airlie beach idea, great location.

2010 HU Meeting - Cooroy QLD
2010 HU Meeting - Cooroy QLD
We have found a great locations in the great south east of QLD for the 2010 HU meeting, it located between Noosa and Cooroy on the the Cooroy-Noosa Road (No. 699 - look out for the HU signs along the road) on the 24th of April 2010 (ANZAC weekend - this will give the people from all around Australia an extra day up their sleave to get back to work!)
There is onsite camping under gorgeous trees situated around a nice wee duck pond is available for $10pp per night other wise there are other alternative accommodations in Cooroy and Noosa.
Just to re-cap:
Address: 699 Cooroy-Noosa Road
Date: 24th of April 2010
I hope to see you all there!
If anyone wants to do a presentation please private message me.
Danielle

Hi Max, what facilities do we have at the venue, are there cabins or motel rooms that can be pre booked, or a caravan park that people can book into on site?. Is there a convenince store for supplies and licenced bar and food outlet where people can have meals. Have we the use of a hall for presentations. Nice and handy for me, just down the road. Locky.

No cabins, camping only. There may be other accomadation options close by if you dont want to camp. Showers & toilets on site. Shops and bottle shop 10 minutes up the road at Cooroy. Planning on having both a road ride and an off road road.
Catering will be available on the Saturday night and Sunday morning. Maybe Sunday night if enough interest, otherwise its BYO everything.
(we are supposed to be hard core world travellers after all)
Big Marquee for the presentations.
We will be looking for trade displays and presenters.
Stay tuned for more info as soon as Grant gets it up on the website.

As for 2010, a few of us have already invested heavily in time and energy to try and put something together. So rather than making some negative remarks, what about telling us how you are going to pitch in and help.
As soon as Grant answers our emails we will provide more details.

Any developments, then?

Might have to be a little patient with this one, "Maximondo" Danielle is in SA for Christmas. I have not heard any more news at this stage but as far as I am aware it is all systems go!
I have had enquiries from several travellers/presenters which I have passed on to Danielle.
It should be a cracker, see you all there!
Merry Christmas
Glen
