Arriving in Perth in December
Hi,
After taking a year out while my leg and ankle recover from an accident last July i'm restarting my trip. I'm currently in South Africa and am in the process of removing Africa from my motorcycle before shipping to Perth. I hope to meet my motorcycle there in December. The plan is to hang out in Perth for a couple of weeks and then head around the coast anti-clockwise, taking diversions when the fancy takes me.
Can i clear my motorcycle through customs on my own, or do i need a clearing agent?
- if i need an agent, can you recommend one?
Thanks,
Steve

The shipping company you use to transport your bike to Perth should be the right place to ask I guess?
Remember quarantine inspection and roadworthines inspection and insurance.
Safe trip!

Hi Steve,
Sorry but I can not offer you any advise in regards to the customs question but I can offer a place for you to visit and stay if needed in the Adelaide Hills. Please let me know when you get this way and it would be great meet you, I usually have a place to stay if I am home, we could have a few ales and share some stories. I owe a lot to some people on this sight and believe in paying it back.
Good luck on your travels around this country and when you get south send me a PM.
Jeffrey

I have an agent to help get Fufu through the border. I don't have a detailed plan as to whether I ride up some of the west coast first and then anti - clockwise or just the anti route.
I'll post more info here as my plans fall together.
Thanks Steve

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
