Bike Swap/Share NZ & Sydney 21/12/13 - 7/1/14
Hello.
I am very new to this forum and find it to be full of great information and general advise from its members.
I am not sure if this is the correct place to ask....
I am looking to borrow / swap / rent a large motorcycle that can carry a pillion with a bit of comfort. If the wife is not happy.... No one is ))))
I have a 2008 Kawasaki GTR1400 Concourse set up for touring with GPS, music, intercoms ect....
I am hoping to find someone with a similar size bike that would be happy for a stranger, mature age , with 40 years riding experience which can be used for a short 2-3 trip with my Motorcycle Club ( Clubman Tourers ) Clubman Tourers
Most members are renting bikes for 2 weeks or so.
I'm hoping to find someone that would be willing to loan me a bike from 21-12-2013 to 6-1-2014... Exact dates are flexible.
I will be riding around your wonderful Islands on tar sealed roads unless you have a GS for KTM 990...
In return, you will have access to my cycle located in Sydney.. Only 5 mins from the airport.. Can even pick u up if I am off duty from work.
If this might work, please send me an email to either
Robert@Clubman.org.au.
Or
Spit1rob@police.nsw.gov.au
Cheers

Damn if we were in NZ I would have jumped at that.
Great idea and I hope someone takes you up on it.
Have you posted on Kiwi Biker - New Zealand Biker Forums the NZ forum, you may get a better response there.
I can post link when the wifi is stringer cos in Guatemala it is hit and miss, this is a hit after six attempts to post
Cheers Andi

Just a follow up on my bike swap idea
Just a short note to say how successful this turned out...
I had a few replies, all were great.
Eventually did a swap with a really nice fellow from Nth NZ .
I flew over, he collected me from the airport and had the bike ready to go.
I had 3 weeks of FUN riding around New Zealand.. im still smiling.
He and his lovely Mrs flew over here to Sydney. I returned the favor and collected them from the airport.
I think they had a great time on my bike and left Sydney smiling as well.
Great result and I even made a new friend...
Well worth the effort !!!!

Good plan and I really hope an individual goes standing on that.
Maybe you have put up on Kiwi Motor biker : Completely new Zealand Motor biker Message boards the actual NZ forum, you will get an even better reaction generally there.
I can post hyperlink if the wi-fi compatability is stringer cos in Guatemala it truly is struck and skip, it is a struck immediately after 6 attempts to post
Best wishes Andi.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
