biker magazines in Australia and New Zealand

Hi!

I´m looking for ULRs/internet addresses of biker magazines in New Zealand and Australia.
No motorcycle-travelling stuff, but magazines that cope mainly with motorcycle club culture, biker lifestyle, mc meetings/events, customising, etc..

Thanks a lot for your help in advance!

Panny

motorbike magazines

Panny,

The monthly magazine Riding on, is for members of the Ulysses Club only and not freely available.Ulysses is probably one of the biggest motor cycle clubs in the southern hemisphere with about 25 000 members.Ulysses Club Inc. | Home They also have a branch in Germany. www.ulysses-club.de

Quite famous is also Australian Road Rider magazine, Road Rider Magazine Australia - Touring Bikes Motorbikes Motorcycles Sydney Melbourne Brisbane Perth Adelaide Cruisers Motorbike Reviews Bike Helmets Bike Gear

Both cater for most things riders are interested. But only you can find out if they offer what you want.

Cheers

RM

The former editor from Road Rider, Peter Thoeming, has now started his own magazine Australian Motorcyclist.

There's also Two Wheels
and AMCN

What's up with PT?

"The former editor from Road Rider, Peter Thoeming, has now started his own magazine Australian Motorcyclist."

Anyone know why The Bear branched out on his own? I've read two editions of his new AM; informative and enjoyable to read. Just difficult to get here in the US.

PT told me it was "editorial differences".

I think they wanted Road Rider to be more like AMCN (racing/sports bikes) and he argued that that wasn't his demographic. So Aust Motorcyclist is catering to the "mature" touring crowd.

Thanks, ScooterGal.

To believe his readership will continue supporting his entertaining style was a tremendous leap of faith. Since I am apparently his target demographic, "maturing rider" (how polite you are, by the way; you could have just called it like it is...old person who still thinks he's 18), I will do what I can to support his new endeavor. However, I can only get to Sydney once every month or so, and it's a crap shoot if any AM issues are left on the news stands when I arrive for the brief 24 hour layover.

For "motorcycle club culture, biker lifestyle, mc meetings/events, customising",
There's "Live to Ride" Magazine and "OzBike". These both will also contain information about Touring and long distance events, and Biker clubs such as Patriots, Vietnam Vets, Harley Owners group event reports and American Motorcycle. They have got some over tunes of 1% culture, but also much about what's going on, equipment, customising (mainly Harley) and reports from various poker runs and get togethers. Theres a Column for Biker Health and The Old Man (Ulysses). Not an adventure bike mag.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
