Rider Down in Tauranga NZ
Ross, who is a good friend of mine was been in a pretty serious motorcycle accident in NZ.
He is currently in Tauranga Hospital in the Orthopedic Ward, his wife has flown over from Canada to be with him.
He is unable to fly home to Canada until he gets clearance from the doctors to fly, which maybe another month.
If anyone can help by dropping by to visit or offer some companionship to his wife Sandy that would be awesome.
He was traveling with another Kiwi who resides in Canada but has had to return to work so Ross and his wife are left in Tauranga to fend for themselves.
Either PM me or email me at davidb at citiloc dot com for more details.
Thanks in advance for all that you can do.
Regards,
David Barrett aka Kiwi Canuck

Ross has apparently been discharged from Tauranga Hospital. When I talked to him almost 2 weeks ago he had booked a flight home on April 24, and was expecting to be discharged within a few days. The intention was then to stay with friends in Taupo until the homeward journey.

Ross is back home
My apologies for not responding earlier as I just got back from NZ myself.
Thank you to those of you who made a visit and offers of assistance, I know it was greatly appreciated.
Ross is home and on the mend, he sure took a big hit and will take some time to mend physically and mentally.
Regards,
David

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
