Sharing a container in Dili (Timor-Leste) in february???
G'day travellers
My name is Thierry, a solo rider from Switzerland on the way to Australia. I'm currently in Bali. My goal is to arrive around 20th february 2014 in Dili (Timor-Leste) and ship my bike (BMW F800GS) to Darwin. I was wondering if someone is also on this route and would be interested in sharing a container to split the costs but also to deal with all the hassle with cleaning the bike and dealing with the authorities/shipping company? On the other hand it would be very nice to have some and share some crazy stories, wouldn't it?
Give me a shout!
Happy New Year to everyone!
Cheers from Bali
Thierry

bed offer
Hi Andrew
Thanks a lot for your bed offer. I appreciate it a lot! I will add it on my map and when I'm getting near I might mail you. It would be around nov./dec. Let's see what happens till then . I'll also check out the link to teapot.
I'm now in Kupang (Timor) and just learned that there is no more direct vessel from Dili to Darwin in March. Only Dili-Singapore-Darwin on 6th march. That one would arrive in Darwin only the 22nd march. Have to catch this one. Lot's of time to kill till then...
Take care and have a nice day!
Cheers
Thierry

Hi Thierry,
I saw your thread over on ADV - wondered if you were here in Australia yet, but obviously no.
Let me know when you plan to be in Sydney and if I'm home you have a bed.
Matt

bed offer
@ Matt: Thank you for your offer, Matt. I plan to be in Sydney around november/december. I'll get back to you when I'll be getting closer.
@ overlander: which route do you mean? In Australia or Asia or even my whole worldtrip? Give you a tip: Go to my website and click on "I'm here right now". You will see my trip so far with all the waypoints... If you need any informations don't be shy to ask me. No probs...
In the meanwhile I arrived in Port Lincoln and stay here with "Desertdog". Having a great time here. Thanks a lot for your hospitality, Marty! Before arriving here I passed the Flingers Ranges over Easter - what a nice scenery and beautiful roads for biking! Enjoy it a lot. After the Flinders I went to Gawler and met Trevor Jenkins (aka AussiTrev) and also Bernie, the car-racer. Great and interessting people! Also thanks to you Trev and Bernie for your very friendly hospitality. Trev showed me Gawler (the pubs in first place !) and also the wineries in Barrossa. We tasted really great wines. I discovered one which could even become one of my new favourits (won't tell the name - it's already quite rare and hard to get ). I left Gawler two days ago and now I'm on my way to Perth. I'm happy that I got invitations of nice people which I can visit on the way. In Port Lincoln, (where I stay right now), Esperance, Busselton and then in Perth itself. Looking forward to see and cross the Nullarbor (thanks for the gps-tracks, Squilly!). Seems that there are quite interestings things to see on the way...
So far, all good!
Cheers
Thierry
