Shipping Brisbane to Europe
We have a bike and sidecar to ship from Brisbane to Europe, anyone interested in sharing a container? Destination port of no consequence so long as Europe. Looking to have the rig in Europe March 2012. Yea, seems a long way off but we are heading around Oz first and want to organise in the near future as we will have little time when we return from the Oz leg. Bob.

Hey Bob & Peter,
We might be interested, we are planning on shipping our vehicle to south America from Oz around the same time. From the little research i have done, it seems that most containers heading to South America are routed through Europe.
So there there may be a chance to share a container,
I will do some more research and get back to you, but it wont be for a while, we are still in Indonesia, and looking to get over the oz sometime in September.

Hi Bob, how did you go getting interested parties? I am looking at shipping to UK and contacted quotes@cargoonline.com.au. They seem to offer professional service and quick response.
Quotation
Crated Motor Cycle
From:Australian Port
Southampton
A$965.00*
Inland Trucking to packing location if required (per bike)
A$180.00
Drain tank, remove and tape battery leads and crate if required
A$420.00**
Delivery of crate to shipping depot if required
A$110.00
* Subject to carriers acceptance to ship dangerous goods
** certificate required from independent party such as a motorbike shop that this has been performed.
Is it going to be cheaper shipping yourself?
Finally if you have dates pls let me know, and I will see if I can go then. I am pretty open on dates at this point.
Pete

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
