Bikeswap required, Holiday in NZ???
My wife and I require a bike, pref BMW R1100GS, to tour UK and Europe, flying into Manchester late july, for a 2 month holiday, We have BMW panniers, but to have them supplied with a topbox as well would be better, as we intend to do a lot of camping and require the extra luggage capacity. We have looked at shipping our 1997 R11GS over, but the exchange rate has killed that dream. I know that they are very expensive to hire, so we would even consider hiring a privatly owned bike at a reduced rate if anybody would be willing. In exchange I am prepared to offer our bike to the swappee (conditions to be discussed), if they should wish to tour New Zealand. This certainly appears to be a way to get around the expense of freight, registration and insurance. If you are aware of anybody willing, please advise, also need to know if there is such a thing as aswap group on the net.
Regards, Dave

Dave, sorry I can't help out on the bike hire part part, but if your planning a trip to Gods biking heaven, then I and my fiancee' Adele would love to meet up with yourself and your other half. We live in Edinburgh and have toured the best road's and camped in the best countryside in Scotland on many occasions. We are touring Europe in the first two weeks of August, taking in Belgium, Holland, Germany, Luxemburg, France and Hopefully nothern Italy but will be back in Edinburgh on the 12th August.
If you are going to be around Edinburgh / Scotland after the 12th August then please feel free to get in touch with us. We would be more than happy to help out with touring routes and top camp sites for you to visit.
Good luck and happy biking,
Brian & Adele

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
