Here is more info on the bike. For those not familiar with the Dakar it differs from the F650GS in the following, giving it better off-road capability
Longer and adjustable travel suspension
Skinny 21" front wheel
Higher ground clearance
Seat height of 34 inches
I shipped the bike from the UK in 2019 with approx 24K on the clock and have used it for yearly rides around SA since then (except pandemic 2020).The Rotax twin spark engine is very robust and very frugal, always delivering 70-75 mpg. It has BMW vario panniers with rear luggage plate and has been fitted with an after-market centre stand for ease of maintenance. The tires are Mitas E-07s with about 6000 miles of use left. A collection of essential elec/ mech spares is included in the inventory.
The bike has been maintained to a high standard and has had the following work done during its time here
1. New headstock bearings
2. New water pump
3. New chain/ sprockets
4. Front forks dropped and serviced
5. Valve clearances checked/ adjusted
If you are familiar with the F650GS you will recognise items 1 and 2 as known issues with this model.
Ownership transfer can be done online if you can supply a UK address for the 'Registered Keeper'. Alternatively/ additionally the bike can be ridden throughout SA under a notarised 'Poder' which is the way the majority of travel bikes change hands.
The bike is currently scheduled to be shipped back to Europe from Santiago in March so selling it is Plan B.
