650 GS oil leak?
New bike to me.
Bike sat on the side stand and I notice a pool of oil. Look at the engine and nothing and then see its coming from under the seat. Oil has accumulated on top of the fuel pump (I assume that is what it is) and then runs down when on the side stand.
Any ideas why there would be oil there and how sinisiter this would be? What should i do. Not oil warning light after I've hit the ignition bu a large amount of oil is therel...
I'm brand new to the f650. Sounds a little raspy / bubbly when picking up the revs but smooth when holding at any RPM - is this typical?

No oil leaking or pooling is normal on any bike !!!
Time to really get to know your bike and get those spanners out !!

Well there's nothing you can do apart from strip the bike down and find out where the leak is coming from !

David came down- pleasant & enthusiastic chap
Problems on F650 sorted
It's tiresome reading your knee-jerk 'talk-the-talk' posts Ted - some of us actually get out there and 'walk-the-walk'. Try it sometime - it feels great to really help hands-on someone who needs it -and that, IMHO, is a big part of what HU is all about.
And just to dispel any possible confusion or myths to the contrary, mods are also entitled to their own opinions

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
