Fuel consumption & range
Hello all,
I’m planning a trip with some friends through Mexico and am looking for
Fuel consumption and range for a 2000 F650 and a 88 R100GS.
The guys just purchased the bikes and we are still trying to get the numbers.
Both bike are all stock and in good running order. Anyone have a few numbers for us?
Thanks in advance,
Kevin

Hey
had many airheads and 1991 GS for many many years. great bike. Couldn´t give you any reliable figures of the top of my head right now. Just do a search in google, it´ll throw out pages like these:
http://bmw.mc.no/bmw/r100gs.html
Before you go anywhere dont forget to check out the condition of your tank on the inside, if you run it to empty paint flakes can block things up.

While figure will exist for the models you have given the actual consumption of the bikes in use will be different from the quoted figures. Reason? Different riders and terrain. Not to mention the condition of the particular bikes. I suggest you test the actual bikes and riders to get fuel consumption figures that will exist for you. Reliance on other people’s figures may lead to running out of gas.

An average of 25 km on a liter for my BMW F650GS from 2000.
My riding style is very relaxed but even when I am in a hurry, I never got less the 20 km from a liter.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
