Seat Height - BMW F650 Funduro
Hiya Folks
Has anyone had a seat foam changed to drop the height of a seat by say 1 inch? I'm thinking this might be an option rather than changing the rear suspension and loosing travel...
Thanks, tony.

Yep http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hubb/images/smilies/thumbup1.gif
I have seen this done many times. Some have even taken most or all of the foam and put a gel insert in instead. It's amazing how a small amount of seat height can make a difference. I use a sheepskin on my Funduro and GS and that raises me about an inch. I really notice that, both in footing and wind over the screen.

Gel Inserts...
hiya
This gel insert sounds interesting - I'm guessing you can get the seat quite low using one of these... any idea who might make them or pictures/suppliers I can work on try and get hold of some material.....
If all else fails we can look at using 2 pieces of different foam - one harder than the other and putting the seat covering back over those...
my better half comes in at 5'4" and though she touches the ground on her toes a couple of inches gained would make all the difference...
Thanks, Tony.

There are usually some for sale on ebay, UK:-
gel seat, Motorcycle Parts, Accessories items at low prices on eBay.co.uk
If you did a worldwide ebay search there will be many more.
An internet search will show up the specialist places that modify bike saddles: again, there are a few in the UK. Those places will provide all of the materials as well, such as the gel pads (if you do an ebay search for that term, you get even more hits!) - some of them do it by mail order etc etc.
