I had a Taylorcraft BC12-D up to a few years ago. If you are going to tell me you had a floatplane up in the Rockies I am going to stop talking to you. Right now. So there.
Do you know Jim Bacon, Jasper Air Services? He operates out of Jasper Hinton, you take OFF at 4,000feet there. I hired his 172 there two years ago and flew over Jasper, and under most everything else, like Mount Edith Cavel, and some (I think) 12,-14,000 ft peaks, maintaining 8,000ft most of the time. Oh, and over a bit of the Columbia Icefield. When I asked about possible forced landing sites in the middle of the mountains he was quite upbeat and positive but without providing an actual answer. Strange, that. Still, under the circumstances, it was a dumb question.
Tell me more, do.
Regards,
John
PS, PLANErman, eh? NOW I see what you meant!
Off topic, I know- I have a machine shop myself. Lathe, Miller (Van Norman) Shaper etc. but interest rather than occupation.
J.
