Touratech 39L Tank Kit F650GS TT39

Just checked out the site for the kit ; oeps...2.307 $, without delivery costs.
Anybody has another solution, little bit less expensive ?

with 2 on a gs and all camping gear doesn't leave any space for having extra fuel with me,
or I need to find a company who can make a rack (at the front) for an extra 5 or 10 liter bidon.
anybody knows a good supplier of custommade racks ?

Thanks,
Pascale

Hi Pascale,
I have them, and would suggest using empty plastic 2L coke bottles and then throwing them away when you are through the sections with no fuel available.
I must say, in 130,000 kilo's so far on my trip, There were only a handful of times where this system would not have worked. And then I could have simply taken more 'bottles' of fuel.

Its maybe not as cool, but for the money you save you can travel some great places!
Rene

I've carried spare fuel in a rucsac on my back: empty it into the tank as soon as there is room and ride very carefully in the meantime - works for me, with minimum time exposed to "additional danger" before someone disagrees and says it is all too dangerous.
Your pillion can carry the 2L bottles temporarily - much less dangerous to you if you have an off!!!!!!!!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
