Fasteners
The Guzzi's crappy bolts were starting to annoy me and as they are a weird shouldered type the stainless replacements would cost more than a decent day out. I've therefore gone for an old trick; nail polish.

They look like coach bolts.

Nail Polish is not designed to last long ... after all it's got to be taken off every couple weeks and redone.
Better to go with a industrial type Urethane clear coat of some type, one that can stand heat, salt, road grim and water. Polish the bolt heads first, then coat and bake.
Might work?
Or, you could do what I do and just wipe down things or spray with WD40 once a week. Pretty good against corrosion but smokes once hot.

Coach bolts don't have a step to seat a copper washer against the spot face in the valve cover. You could buy stainless ones and superglue the washers in the right place, but see below and think of the three pints you could have instead.
The nail polish is acrylic and costs £0.99. You couldn't carry out your health and safety assessment and fire up your oven for that ( assuming you own one). It lasts a couple of UK winters then you take it off with a wire brush on an electric drill and go back to Poundland in the hope Gothic is in for teenagers. On fingers I think maybe the nails grow and it flakes off? The remover stuff is a good way to misplace a few hours and gain a headache.
This is the bodgers section!

Ahh, Poundland nail varnish. Based on what's in our bathroom my daughter must have emptied out a couple of the local stores. There's a sparkly pink one that'll bring the bolt heads up a treat

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
