I tried a pair of Formas once and sold them soon after. I've been wearing Sidis since 1973-ish - in fact still have that pair (Joel Robert MX boots) and they're still good to wear! Since then I've worn a few out, one pair lost it's soles, but they were 25 years old, so I'm okay with that. I currently have the Crossfire 1's, and LOVE them for anything off-road, wear them a lot on the road, although I'll probably get a pair of Sidi Adventures for lighter duty road.
GOOD boots are worth the money LONG term. And all the way to the long term you'll appreciate the fit and comfort and reliability and protection. Don't skimp on boots. Lots of stories out there why not.
Hope that helps!
