Cleaning Bibler tents?
My very well used Bibler has never let me down, except for a bad case of fire ants in Costa Rica, but that is a different story! Now in my domesticated downtime i have an oppertunity to give it a good cleaning. Because it's a waterproof membrane type fabric, i figure a non detergent goretex cleaner will do, but thought i would check on the infinate well of wisdom here for other sugestions first.

Washing?
For what's it worth...from the Black Diamond (they are a Bibler Dealer)website....
Do not dry clean or machine wash your tent. If lightly soiled, the floor and exterior walls can be sponged clean with warm water and, if necessary, Mirazyme cleaner (available from BD Mail Order).Never use detergents or liquids of any kind as they may cause the fabric to lose waterproofness. K2R spot remover can be used on the outside of the ToddTex™ fabric to remove grease or stains.
ToddTex™ is a three layer PTFE laminate. Like similar fabrics, it is important to avoid contamination of the PTFE film. Taking care to keep your tent clean and away from oils, grease, and solvents, including sunscreens and mosquito repellent, will be rewarded with years of good service. In order to protect the fabric, remove all dirt and debris from inside the tent before storing.
To Wash: If it becomes necessary to wash the entire tent, be sure to avoid hot water, bleach, dishwashing liquid, or any type of liquid detergents. Hand wash in a bathtub using only cool water and a product called Mirazyme, made by McNett Corp. This wash-in product does a wonderful job of cleaning, eliminating odor, and even helps to remove mildew. It is available directly from us for $4.95 (2oz bottle). Be sure your tent is totally dry before putting it away. This may take 24 hours or more.
DO NOT SPRAY OR WASH YOUR TENT WITH ANY WATER REPELLENTS OR CLEANING AGENTS OTHER THAN THOSE SUPPLIED BY OR RECOMMENDED BY BIBLER TENTS.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
