How many 70+ RTW riders out there.

I'd sort of given the idea away but boredom after retirement has aroused my passion. I travelled extensively when I was younger, across Nth Africa in the 60's and driving across from UK to Herat in 68. Working in the resource industry in Africa, Europe, Middle East and Australia and the Pacific Islands. I'd like to talk to similar aged people who are doing or have done "The Journey"

I am unclear what you are seeking or expect as replies.

However, I am 70+, still active and planning ahead for something similar to my last serious moto jaunt 3 years ago (see the link below for part of it).

The next will probably be shorter that that 3 months - but hopefully just as challenging.

I don't !!

Only the Passport and mirror get older in my life.

PM me if you think I can assist.

Last year I went to my 50th High School reunion on my KLR 650 From Seattle to NY. 6,000 miles RT. Camped out about 80 % or the time. This summer I am hooking up with a gentleman out of Brownsville, Texas. Seattle to Tierra del Fuego. My background is mountaineering for about 15 years in my youth.

I love every second I am out there. Go for the Gold. Golden years that is.

I think Ian had his 70th birthday last week. He rode straight from HUUK Donington to the TT. I hope I'm still fit enough to do what he's doing when I'm 70. Really enjoyed my, sadly very brief, chat with him.

If you've got an Af Twin RD04 for sale, he's in the market for another one, so he can head off again!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
