Thanks for all the replys guys,

Thing is Im looking for aluminum uprights around 5'8.

Ive bought some aluminum poles but there really for bendy poles.

ive been digging round my garage and found some that are lighter than the
original poles so Im going to give those a try out.

I find the local caravan supply shop good for these - they normally have a collection of alu poles that you can build to what-ever size you need.

Alternativly some of the more 'consumer' camping shops (independants) stock them too for awnings and the like.

My local caravan / camping store stocks them certainly - but St Albans is a bit far for you to come !

Thanks Guys,

I had a scrounge round my garage and found some old poles which i cut a couple of inches off,

then at Tesco's I saw some walking poles (£6 each) so bought a couple and cut off the handle leaving a rubber knob on the end. If you remove the rubber cover from the floor end of the pole you are left with small metal posts (ideal for going thru tent metal grommets).

Anyway thanks for all the ideas, only a week to go to my 15day trip to Finland :-)

Cheers
Will

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
