I don't know where they came from but I did once have some sachets of vodka and whiskey, similar to those usually found containing tomato ketchup.

I thought that they were brilliant but have never seen them since.

i'd agree it tastes disgusting, but i struggled to get it all to dissolve. the residue is a bit like silicone sealant but doesnt really set, ie really tacky.
so maybe they would have more repeat sales if also sold as contact adhesive?
instantly nore appealling to the overlander looking for multifuctionality wise, not sure how long the lumpy bits would stay in your stomach for!!

hahaha love the pimms o clock effort! back when i used to wear green alot, a bone china set used to come out in the field, for afternoon tea Definitely going to fly the flag next trip away...pimms or gin?!

as for the sachets of booze, on our flights out to africa, we often get given them instead of miniatures..great space savers, but i fear they might be easier to damage and lose the lovely liquid contained within.

They have the little sachets of spirits on Ryanair flights too, but because you're not allowed anything remotely pointy on the lane watch out or you could end up like my last visitor stinking of gin when you get off the plane.

Buy my sachets of powdered petrol. Just add water. One sachet makes 2 US gal.

From a marketing point of view I hope you'll soon be doing the full overland version? This will be supplied in a drawn titanium packet held in a photon torpedo cut aluminium bracket, will cost $10,000 and will be delivered shortly after hell freezes over.

dont try this at home, kids
we just got 50ltrs of meths in for a cleaning job, not the denatured purple pee, the full fat clear stuff that wino's used to drink before white lightning came along.

for a laugh, like lads do, we had a wee dram and its an acquired taste but not too bad, tasting slightly of strawberries believe it or not. put it this way, its better than some german schnapps i refuse to drink and use to clean the windows with!
i pinched some for my trangia, so have i saved space and weight by carrying a dual purpose fluid? well not really, industrial meths is 95% alcohol and the stories about going blind from alcohol poisoning are perfectly true so maybe not.
wonder what its like as a mixer though, perhaps a dash with some fruit juice? or an alternative bloody mary, perhaps a flippin' mary?

Be very careful with the Meths, its Methanol/ethanol mix, you would need to distil it to separate them and their boiling points are very close together, I used to work with pure Ethanol, plenty of cola and ice
Then the man from HM customs arrived to inspect the store and was not amused when I mentioned the party

Powdered wine - what an insane idea.

What's wrong with sampling the local wines wherever you go? It's one of the pleasures of travelling. In some places it's one of the highlights...

And in those countries where alcohol is not available or permitted, a few days of abstinence won't kill you.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
