Buying a bike in Costa Rica as a German

Hi,
I#m planing my trip in CostaRica - Start is middle of April 2015 - I like to buy a smaller used dirt bike / enduro - 125cc to 600cc - doesn't matter - to travel 6 weeks through the country - to rent a bike is too expensive I guess
do somebody know a private person or even dealer for used bikes in San Jose or close ?
is it possible to get a insurance for the bike as a 'non-costaRican' ?
do I need a address in Costa Rica for that ?

many thanks for your feedback ;-)

Hey Vid
I have a KLR650 down here in Costa Rica. Its a bit bigger than you are looking for but if it comes down to it let me know if your interest is still there come April. The bike is equipped with a surf rack if you plan on surfing here and could even throw in the board if you wish.
If you dont want to buy it, I would be willing to rent it to you for a great price to save you some cash and get you to ride the country. Insurance is required in costa rica and is no hassle obtaining it. My bike already is insured. All it would take is a note of permission notorized that allows you to ride it with no hassle, especially if you are not crossing borders. no address needed.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
