Hi, the time that temporary import permit says, if the permit gets expired you will have to pay the taxes plus a fine.

There is a way of doing it for a longer period, suspending the permit & storing the bike in a customs warehouse.
Not sure how it works & it is almost certainly not cheap??

Storing bike in Costa Rica
You can put your bike in bonded storage for up to 12 months. The 90 permit goes on hold when the bike goes into bonded storage Costs about $2.50/ day.
